Affiliate Marketers Super Bootcamp 2012 Session 11 -Fast Track Your Business With Outsourcing Part 2 of 2

James Martell's Affiliate Marketers Bootcamp 2012

We are now back reviewing James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 Session 11 -Fast Track Your Business With Outsourcing Part 2 of 2. After the debacle of having all of our sites attacked by malware, it is wonderful that when you take a course from James Martell you can pick it up at your own pace. He backs up all of his material with videos, written transcripts, and audio presentations (all of which can be downloaded).
Affiliate Marketers Super Bootcamp 2012 Session 11 -Fast Track Your Business With Outsourcing Part 2 of 2
In this session of Fast Track Your Business With Outsourcing Part 2 of 2, James’ goal for the group is to get their projects awarded and completed. At the end of the session he will have covered how to get your content written, graphics created, plus the installation, set-up, and configuration of WordPress. All of these jobs need different skill sets and he helps you evaluate them.

As in all other sessions he reviews the previous session in which he taught you how to post your projects. He also reviews the 10 tips to outsourcing.

As he is ready to move on to this session he takes everyone back into the Elance interface. The first step he tackles is how to evaluate the proposals that you have received for each unit. Going through the various proposals he instructs on what to look for in each one. Important tips on how to review the profile, the portfolio, and the feedback for each of the candidates.

Once a decision has been made on the most suitable provider, he then talks about how to communicate with this person and how to negotiate a more favorable price. As there is usually quite a few bidders for the job this negotiation will often work out very well.

The project is then awarded. At this point he shows you how to set up milestones and why it is important to have realistic milestones. Once the selected candidate has accepted the terms, James then reviews the information that you need to send to them. Since your project descriptions have been drawn up in previous steps this is fairly seamless.

James Martell spends quite a bit of time reviewing the process of going back and forward with the provider to make sure that you get exactly what you want. This step is usually more necessary when you are working with a graphics person. Although you want their creativity, you also want the finished work to reflect your needs.

In this James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012Fast Track Your Business With Outsourcing Part 2 of 2, James Martell definitely sticks to his ideas of “baby steps” and detail.
The next session will be Building a Winning Website

As is James Martell’s style of teaching, he starts this session with a review of Pulling It All Together Part 1 of 2 and Pulling It All Together Part 2 of 2. He is always very encouraging and understanding if everyone is not quite up to speed. He understands that people learn at different rates and that they have pressures that may keep them from spending the time needed to fulfill each session. As I have mentioned before the wonderful thing about any of James Martell’s courses is that he videos them, provides transcripts of them, and records them. This allows his students to work at their own pace.

He begins Session 10 -Fast Track Your Business With Outsourcing Part 1 of 2 by having the students open their copies of their Master Site Plans. James Martell's Affiliate Marketers Bootcamp 2012

In session 9 of James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012, he continues with the discussion of Pulling It All Together. James has always been a great believer of “baby steps” in the process of learning to develop a website. As a result in this session of the Affiliate Marketers Super Bootcamp, he carries on from Pulling It All Together Part 1 of 2 and adds the last steps to get ready for actually having your website go online.

After reviewing the steps covered in Session 8 Martell instructs his students to grab their Master Site Plans and add these steps:

  • Develop a Project Description for the Necessary Graphics
  • Develop a Project Description for the Installation, Configuration, and Setup of WordPress

Before James gets into the material for the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 Session 9 -Pulling It All Together Part 2 of 2, he leads the class in a discussion of what he believes to be the 2 Biggest Mistakes that people make when becoming internet marketers. You might be surprised to learn what they are. This leads right into a discussion of defining what your role will be in this process.
Graphic Design
He then gets into the “meat of the matter” by defining why graphics are so important for an effective website. This includes the picking of a theme that will work effectively to showcase your website in a professional manner. James Martell has become a big advocate of the themes at Studio Press. He feels that if you purchase a professional theme that is well optimized in the long run it will pay big dividends. Having the theme in mind you can then spend some quality time thinking about how you would like your header graphic to appear. James gives you some very interesting and helpful suggestions about this header that I don’t think that many of us would have considered. In this discussion you will learn about logos, tag lines, color of background, color of text, and thumbnails. It is an area where some time should be spent, as the finished product will determine the professional look of your site.
Wordpress-installation-and-management
The final step in this unit is to discuss the Installation, Configuration, and Setup of WordPress. James Martell is a firm believer in outsourcing many of the tasks that are needed for success. Although it is possible to install a WordPress theme yourself, he firmly believes that you are much better off to get an expert to do this. Part of the process of Installation, Configuration, and Setup of WordPress is to install and configure12 to 20 plugins.

As with the other sessions, in the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 Session 9 -Pulling It All Together Part 2 of 2 James Martell provides his students with project description templates for each step. All the follower has to do is to make a few minor changes to these templates so that they are customized for their use. James is a big fan of hiring experts for all these tasks and he is a huge supporter of the expertise that can be found at Elance. He has had very good success in hiring qualified people from there.

Once you have added these steps to your Master Site Plan you will be ready to tackle Session 10 Fast Tracking Your Business With Outsourcing

James Martell's Affiliate Marketers Bootcamp 2012

In session 6 Developing Your Website Blueprint Part 2 of 2 of James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012, he continues to guide his students through the beginning steps of getting your website organized. For some people this might seem a bit tedious but if you get this part right, all the rest will fall into place .

In this session he goes over the following:
Developing Your Website Blueprint Part 2 of 2 of James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers Super Bootcamp 2012

  • WordPress.org
  • Grab Site Detail Page
  • Open a Google Document
  • Make a List of Required Plugins
  • Develop Your Own Site Detail Page
  • Go To Bluehost360.com
  • Search, Search, Search, Some More
  • Purchase Your Domain Name
  • Go to StudioPress360.com
  • Purchase Your Domain

As always James spends a little time at the beginning doing a quick review of the previous session Developing Your Website Blueprint Part 1 of 2. He always feels that his students should take small steps to achieve a larger goal. I think also he can gage the effectiveness of the course by finding out where everyone is as they go along.

In session 6 Developing Your Website Blueprint Part 2 of 2 he starts off by explaining the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org and why you should be using WordPress.org to build your site. When I took his Affiliate Marketers Super Bootcamp he was promoting Drupal as the content marketing system. Now Drupal is a wonderful content management system but you have to be quite technically savvy to manage it. I can honestly say I was never able to figure it out. Ultimately with reasonable amounts of pain and frustration I had my site transferred to a WordPress.org system.

From there James reviews the 17 most favorite plugins that they use on their sites. This part is interesting but as he cautions don’t over load your site with too many plugins that you don’t need. I think that once you are up and running you can begin to see which ones that you will need. This goes back to your visitor profile and how you want them to be able to use your site combined with the information that you need to get from site.

James Martell has always been very generous in sharing his materials and in this session he shares his Site Detail Page. This is a wonderful resource for outlining what is on the site and where it is. In this area you can begin to identify your site’s required pages and where they should reside on the site. Using this as a template you can then go on to develop your own Site Detail Page. This is one of the homework steps from this session.

From there he moved to picking a domain name. Again in their practice of sharing Arlene Martell came on and talked about the steps she takes when finding a domain name. She and James outlined 10 ideas on how to find good domain names.

The next step was to go to Bluehost360.com and search for the availability of the names you are considering. James has long been a big supporter of Bluehost for registering and hosting domains. In his first session of this course there is a short video of how to use Bluehost. While at Bluehost take your time to search, search, and search some more.

Bluehost.com Web Hosting $6.95

To wind up this session he introduces the class to the WordPress themes at StudioPress. They are lovely clean themes with loads of functionality.

From this session there is quite a bit of homework assigned but with the final step of session actually buying the domain, students will feel that they are well on their way to actually seeing a site. In the next session of James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 he will discuss keywords and how to understand them and use them.

Now that you know how to get organized and have all the tools in place, this week at the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 Session 2, James Martell was covering how to find the right niche for you. This is a beginning step for starting as an affiliate. Because you plan to be doing this for a long time it is important to pick a niche that works for you.

James started the third session of the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 talking about how many web sites that you need to have to be successful as an Internet marketer. You will be very surprised to find out what he recommends.

He then went on to discuss how you can pick a topic that will work for you. James Martell has a blueprint for this process and he is more than willing to share this with you.

If you are going to devote the time and effort that it takes to make a success then your topic must have some relevance to you. At the same time there must be interest from others about the topic. Affiliate Marketers BootCamp 2012 Session 2
He then spent a long part of the session discussing the ins and outs of the affiliate side of the equation. If you are going to be an affiliate marketer you need to be paid for your efforts. He outlines what exactly this process is, how to evaluate the affiliate programs in your niche, and what you should expect from the merchant. He answered the question – what if the merchant doesn’t have an affiliate program, should I get him to start one? What types of creatives will you need to make your site work with the merchant’s products? How you can judge if the merchant will be supportive of your efforts?

He raps the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp 2012 session 3 up by asking the students to give some serious though to how much they know about the niche that they are about to select. Your web site is going to need ongoing content to be successful. No doubt you can outsource the writing but to be able to appraise it you must be very familiar with the subject.

James Martell’s Affiliate Super Boot Camp

I cannot say enough about James Martell and his partner Arlene Martell. As senior online marketers who may have a more challenging learning curve, it is imperative to find someone you can trust. You need to find someone who is not out there just to take your money and someone who has excellent customer service. The Martells deliver this in spades!

James teaches in what he calls “baby steps”. This allows you to easily keep up. His main product is the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp. This program is constantly being upgraded to deliver today’s techniques and information.

The Boot Camp is taught in 28 ninety to one hundred and twenty minute sessions in an online classroom. Because James is more than generous with his time it often runs overtime. He allows questions and makes suggestions to help people. The sessions are videoed, recorded and transcribed. This means you can watch them over and over again. The MP3 audio allows you to take them with you in your car or your run or wherever. I personally found the written transcripts to be very useful. James Martell has covered all the different ways that people learn.

The material in the Super Boot Camp takes you through the following:

  • Planning a web site
  • Finding a suitable domain and hosting

To keep with James’ philosophy of baby steps several of these topics are broken into more than one session. To augment this he provides a question and answer session twice a month plus a weekly Coffee Talk audio interview pertaining to these topics.

One of the wonderful side benefits of this program is the support and help you receive from other members taking the Boot Camp.

Arlene Martell mans the help desk and if you have a problem you can email her. You will get an almost immediate response. The customer service is second to none.

This was my first introduction to online marketing and I cannot recommend Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp strongly enough.
