Membership Sites

Not everyone likes membership sites but if the material within these sites is valuable they are well worth joining. Both James Martell and Martin Avis have membership sites. Interestingly they are quite different from one another.

James Martell of the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp runs a membership site that students of his courses join. This is a wonderful support system where the students can pose their questions and have them answered by both James and other students. Members pop in to share finds and tools that they have found. They discuss various Internet news items such as the Google Panda slap. As members they are eligible to take all the additional courses that James has created at no additional costs. As a method of how successful Internet marketers make money this method gives James an ongoing monthly income.

The video courses that are available to Bootcamp members are:

  • Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp
  • Outsourcing Essentials
  • Site Critiques
  • Facebook How to
  • Conversion Clinic
  • Twitter Tutorials
  • Web Video Workout
  • Drills for Skills
  • Daily Traffic Blueprint
  • Podcasting Profits
  • List Building 101
  • WordPress How to
  • Backlinks Workshop
  • Prebuilt Site Trainings
  • Organizational Strategies
  • Copywriting Basics

As well as the courses there is a schedule of upcoming events. James has question and answer session almost every two weeks where he and students meet in online classroom. This time is used to present new material and to help students with some of their challenges.

A great deal of the site is devoted to the forum where students can post questions, give answers to others, talk about Internet news, and share tips on useful tools. James comes in to help and to also report on new things but the students themselves are very supporting to one another.

The cost of this site is $47.00 per month and is offered to all students of the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp. The bonus to this is that all other features and courses are free of charge to the members. This means that you can study and follow them at your pace. I have already highly recommended the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp and once you become one of James Martell’s students you will wonder why you did not do this sooner.

Martin Avis also runs a membership site but his is entirely different. His membership site is a PLR site. Martin and his wife Delia post new PLRKickstart PLR Exclusive Private Label Club is a mere $27.00 per month. As well as the more than useful tools you get 10 articles in 3 different niches. What a bargain!

Review of Products

All three of these successful Internet Marketers review products and tools in their own way. Tiffany Dow a mentioned already picks a product and goes through it step by step. She implements it herself and lets her readers know the pros and the cons of the product. She is extremely frank about what she thinks about these products and usually engages the producers in the process. As a result of her candid approach her followers trust her and she is able to make affiliate income in the process.

James Martell interviews other marketers and in doing so reviews their products. Also in the course of teaching his courses he will recommend or suggest both products and tools. Of all the marketers James Martell is the least in your face trying to sell you products.
Martin Avis reviews products in his biweekly newsletters. He only recommends products that he believes are of high quality.

All three of these marketers create their own products and promote them to their followers.

PodCast

James Martell has the longest running affiliate podcast. It is call the Affiliate Buzz. On this podcast he interviews other marketers, talks about Internet news such as the Google Panda slap, reviews affiliate summits, and shares his ideas.

The great thing about a podcast is that you can play it as you work and if you miss something you can replay it.

Video Marketing

Both James Martell and Tiffany Dow use video presentations as part of their marketing. I for one like the idea of being able to see how things are done. I like the ability to revisit these videos. They have both used YouTube to host their video. Unfortunately for some reason Tiffany had almost all her video’s removed from YouTube. It appears that for some reason the idea of posting videos to show people how to make money online came under fire. The really hard lesson to learn from Tiffany’s experience is to be sure to have backups of this material.

In conclusion these three Marketers – James Martell, Tiffany Dow, and Martin Avis are ethical, honest marketers who are all earning good livings online while helping other people succeed at Internet Marketing.

How Successful Internet Marketers Make Money- Part 1

As a senior Internet marketer you are wise to try to learn from successful Internet marketers. There are many so called “gurus” who rave about all the money they are making. They indicate that if you just buy their recommended silver bullet you too can live a luxurious life in no time. Is it really so easy? In most cases the answer to this is no.

After chasing down many blind alleys I have settled on just the following three successful Internet marketers. They all some things in common while going about it in different ways. These three marketers are James Martell, Tiffany Dow, and Martin Avis. I will tell you a bit about why they are so successful and how they do it.

The types of methods employed by them are:

  • Courses
  • Blogs
  • Newsletters
  • Podcasts
  • Video lessons
  • Membership sites
  • Reviews
  • PLR

Courses –Sharing and Teaching

Each of these successful people is very generous with their time and their knowledge. They are willing to share with others those methods that have led to their success. In doing so they make money along the way.

James Martell has developed a number of wonderful Internet courses. The major of these sixteen different courses is his Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp. This is a 28 week course held on a weekly bases in a video classroom. In this weekly course James teaches and illustrates the material and students can ask questions. Each of the weekly courses is backed up with written transcripts and videos. I found it more than useful to be able to both read the course material and visually review it. The ability for students to be able to view the material over and over again is a great learning tool. Because many people relate to the written word more than to a visual presentation the transcripts are a bonus not often offered. For me it was definitely a reinforcing part of learning the material. This is where I started and I can highly recommend the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp.

Once you have taken the Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp and joined James and his followers you will have free access to all his other courses. I cannot begin to tell you all the information that is available in these courses. James and Arlene Martell give of their time constantly. They talk on a personal way and share their family life with everyone. They are a wonderful support system.

Blogging

Tiffany Dow posts a blog on her site daily. She talks about things that she is learning. She answers questions sent to her by followers. She reviews products. She makes announcements about new eBooks or PLR material that she has created. She also responds to the many comments left on her site. Sometimes she presents her material in video form as well as giving a written presentation of it. I like it when she does the video because often I can listen to her and work on something else.

Tiffany allows her followers into her life and talks about her husband, her mother, her children, and her dog. She lets her Internet friends share her ups and downs.

Because she is generous with her knowledge and open about her own trials and errors people trust her. The relationships she builds helps to sell the products she promotes.

Tiffany Dow uses her daily blog to help other marketers solve on going problems they may have. The comment section of her blog allows marketers to pose questions and make suggestions.

As well as the blog Tiffany offers a number of eBook courses that she has written. They are all very through and very reasonably priced.

Newsletters

Martin Avis teaches through his twice weekly newsletter and if you happen to be lucky enough to live in the U.K. he often speaks at Internet educational seminars. Martin has written several eBooks to help Internet marketers while making him an income.

Martin Avis’s twice weekly newsletter is a way to teach, inform, and chat with his Internet Friends. Like James Martell and Tiffany Dow he shares his family life, his health problems, his home improvements and his garden with the subscribers.

The thing that I like about the newsletter is that it is quick to read, informative, and a soft sell. Martin only promotes things in which he believes. If there is nothing of value in a product he says so.

Should You Be Personal Online?

If you follow this blog you will know that I am a senior who is learning to work online. With all honesty I can say for me this has been a very daunting journey. This blog is my release for some of the stumbling blocks that I have found along the way. It is also a way to share with other seniors working on line the truly great people and courses that I have found.

Last week two different people that I follow online talked about being personal online. Tiffany Dow whose blog I read as a daily routine was sharing with us the joy and sorrow of her son’s graduation. She has always been very open with the details of her family life. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is not shy about letting her readers know about both her triumphs and her failures. Her honest delivery style allows her followers to know her and to trust her. They know if she recommends something that she truly believes it to be a good product. It is also very useful to many when she has a rant about something that is less than valuable. (more…)

Brand Your Name

Should Your Brand Your Name on the Net?

To build up trust and to be treated as the go to person on the Internet it is important that you brand your name or your company’s name. Regardless of the topic that you choose to work with, if people have build up a relationship with you they will trust your advice.

They trust your recommendations, they trust that your products will be of good quality, and they trust that you have integrity. People like to deal with real people not just some obscure sales mechanism.

It does not matter what you are producing it should carry your identification. Whether it’s a membership site, an eBook, or something as small as a PLR article pack for sale – you should put your name on it. By branding your name you will be rewarded with success.

Even if you are just getting started chance are that you know the names of some of the prominent Internet Marketers. You may not know them all but it is hard to be in this business very long without running across some of them. Have you heard of John Reese, Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, Ewen Chia, Perry Marshall, James Martell, Michael Cheney, Martin Avis, or Tiffany Dow?

It does not take many needs for information to run across these names. The one thing that all these people have in common is that they brand themselves. Everything that they produce has their names on it.

Their names are all over the marketing forums, their eCovers, their headers, and everything else they do. Having their names become brands that people trust rewards them. If they recommend something people will purchase because the product recommendation comes from a reliable source.

If the person is top of mind it follows that their products must be good. You can follow their examples by putting your name on everything that you create. By constantly putting your name out there you will be come a trusted source.

In most cases you need to use your own name rather than a nickname. However if for some reason you don’t wish to use your own name the pen name you pick should be a real person name.

If you’ve signed up for forums under a nickname, ask the moderators if they can change your name to your real name or pen name. You might not want to tell the moderator’s it’s a pen name. That’s up to you.

Market your own name in as many venues as possible. Host teleseminars, JV with well-known people if possible, and offer to help create content for well-known people in your niche in exchange for a Bio Box that hosts your name and link to your website.

Offer to be an interview subject for someone. Be a “guest author” for popular websites and blogs in your niche, and create 100% original content for them. Never stop branding your name.

Even when you’re as famous as Donald Trump, the king of name branding, don’t stop. Donald still puts his name on everything he does. His name appears in huge, bold letters on his books. He names buildings after himself. Think of Trump Tower, Trump Taj Mahal, and Trump Plaza. His name is all over everything. Not only is it a matter of pride, but also it keeps his name everywhere.

In your particular area of expertise you want your name to be the one everyone thinks of first. You will become the authority for that niche.

What is PLR

As a Senior Internet Marketer How Can PLR Benefit You?

When you start to work on the Internet as a senior it can be very confusing. Especially the lingo or language of the web can initially be meaningless. Figuring out what things are, how they work and if they can help you is often like climbing up a mountain.

Most people both inside and outside the world of Internet marketing don’t really understand the what private label rights or PLR are. They don’t realize that the use of these products can help them with web site content, articles, eBooks, audio, and even video material for their marketing.

The use of this relatively inexpensive material enables Internet marketers to increase their revenue.

The process is as follows: someone, usually a writer, will produce the material for others to buy and in selling it give up all rights to it. The material can range from articles, reports, eBooks, audio or video information, and software programs. The PLR material is sold in a package for pennies.

At first glance this does not make sense. Why would anyone go to all the work of producing this content to sell it cheap? The reason is that there are many buyers willing to buy the PLR packages and thus the originator is able to make some real dough from this process.

For sellers, if you can write a short ebook of 20,000 words, or a pack of ten 500-word articles and sell it to 150 different people for $10 each you will have made a tidy $1500. And still retain the right to sell it to 150 more if you can find them.

This is a win win situation. The seller has made a nice return for his efforts and the buyer can use material however he wishes.

Since the seller has given up all rights to the material the buyer is free to put his own name on it. Once the buyer has paid for the product and taken delivery of it he can then treat it as if he had created it and can then use it anyway he can imagine.

The buyer of PLR articles can edit them, rewrite them, use them for inspiration, turn them into courses, combine them with other PLR packages the sky is the limit.

Article directories do not like PLR material especially if there has been no change to it. If you plan to use the material for article directory submission it is best to use it for ideas. The article directories are on the lookout for duplicate content.

You are usually restricted from buying PLR material from one source then trying to sell it as your own PLR product.

The rules of use differ from one supplier to another so pay attention to the policies of the seller.

As everyone’s website is crying for original content buying PLR articles is a speedy way to help produce it. Private label rights assist your rankings in the search engines while giving your visitors fresh information.

For almost every possible niche it is possible to find inexpensive PLR material. The main problem in finding and using PLR is finding quality material. Often you will find PLR materials that have been kicking around for years and have been used and used.

Most quality webmasters feel that it is very important to have fresh content. Visitors as well as search engines are seeking for informative, helpful material that is presented in an understandable way. Both are quickly turned off by junk.

If your visitors are not rewarded with a quick understandable answer to their problem or need they will exit the site immediately. You will never see those visitors again.

Fortunately there are many extremely well written PLR products. There are a handful of membership sites that provide the very best quality articles, eBooks or software at surprisingly low prices.

I highly recommend the following sources for quality writing and great service.
Tiffany Dow’s PLR ATM

Joey Massenburg had this to say about Tiffany Dow

She really knows her stuff and practices what she teaches. Tiffany is one of the most honest and transparent marketers on the planet and one of the few marketers who is more concerned with helping people than how much money she makes plain and simple
Tiffany Dow’s PLR Internet Marketing

Very best PLR Membership site is Martin Avis’s Kickstart PLR

Neil Shearing had this to say about Kickstart PLR:

Martin recently decided to offer people quality articles to use as they wish on their own websites… so-called PLR articles.
But, being Martin, he wanted to do it better than anyone else, so he created the “gold standard” of PLR… and very impressive it is too!

Another reviewer said this:

All the articles are written by the husband and wife team of Martin and Delia Avis – one a full time internet marketer and the other an experienced English teacher – so the research and writing is first class.
Martin is takes the quality of his articles very seriously because as Martin is a real Internet Marketer he knows what works!

As you are learning so many other techniques this private label rights content can help you with affordable material for all your marketing needs.

Review of KickstartPLR

Review of KickstartPLR – private label articles membership site.

As a Senior online marketer, trying to learn Internet business I’ve bought a lot of private label stuff over the years. Articles, ebooks, software … you name it, I have a hard drive full of it. I have learned that well written private label material can help you create meaningful content. This leaves a Senior “newbie” free to spend time learning all the intricacies of online marketing.

The one thing that characterizes most of it though is that it is badly researched and poorly-written. Let’s be honest, 90% of the thousands and thousands of PLR articles around are barely even in readable English.

The only reason I keep buying private label materials is that every once in a while you come across a supplier who understands the concept of quality. It’s rare, I admit, but they are out there if you look.

And when you do find the good stuff, the money-making potential is amazing. You can literally reap the rewards while someone else does all the work for you!
Good private label lets you do pretty much anything you like – edit it, add to it, merge different articles into a bigger report, post it on websites, blogs, emails … if you can think of a money-making use for it, the chances are you can do it. The private label license has very few restrictions.

Usually the only no-nos are to post the articles unchanged on article directories, and reselling them as private label. Other than that, the sky – and your imagination, is the limit.

Just recently I came across a new website from husband and wife team, Martin and Delia Avis. Martin has been a full time Internet marketer for years and Delia is an ex English teacher, so between them they know about research, keywords, expert writing and online marketing. A combination of talents that they have put to good use in KickstartPLR.

Martin also runs a very long-running newsletter – Kickstart Today – which has been around for over 8 years – and is known for his ethics and straight dealing.

That background made me take notice when I learned that they had recently launched a private label articles site of their own.

What I found was that they create a new pack of ten articles, on a carefully researched niche topic, every ten days. So for your subscription fee you get 30 brand new articles every month. What was important for me was that I found by getting them spread out over the month I don’t get overloaded.

This is PLR material that I want to use, not collect!

KickstartPLR also has some excellent training materials – which is being added to all the time, and a section with really useful exclusive software you can use in your online marketing. Frankly, I’d have paid the low monthly price just to use some of that software!

Having checked out the site and seen for myself the extremely high quality Martin and Delia both aim for and achieve, I have no hesitation in recommending KickstartPLR.

Finding the Right Mentor

As a senior working online there is a quantity of information to learn. To get the most from your Internet business it is advisable to find a mentor. Before you decide on a mentor it is wise to sit down and evaluate your goals. Give some serious thought to exactly how you want your business to run. What is the purpose of your web site?

There are many types of web sites. You might be setting up a site to sell consumer products that will either be stocked by you or dropped shipped. You may have a service you want to sell. You may be setting up your web site to sell information products. Another site you might consider is an affiliate site on which you sell other people’s products. Currently a very popular type of web site is a community site; where people who have similar interests or concerns can post. This type of site is a sharing of common needs and ideas. Many Internet marketers are setting up membership sites. In this case people must pay (usually monthly fees) to belong.

How do you go about finding the right mentor for your needs? Often it is by trial and error. To avoid the frustration of following one person only to find they are not teaching what you need, research them first. Places you can find information about many of the teaching “gurus” are on forums. Take your niche and Google it for forums. See what people are discussing. A good site to visit is Warrior Forum. Many of the top Internet marketers gather there to share their ideas. Visit clickbank.com where you can find thousands of products about a variety of subjects. Find one you think will help your marketing efforts, buy the product and review it. Paydot.com, relatively new site that has many products on it is worth visiting.

Decide if you want a complete course that you can purchase and then follow along at your own pace. Or do you want a series of weekly online classes with weekly instruction assignments and questions and answers.

If you would like to build a site that sells affiliate products a good place to consider is Info Product Killer. If you would like a site that is based on building large community sites visit James Martell’s Affiliate Marketers SUPER BootCamp. For nuts and bolts courses – how to start, get a domain, hosting, construct a web site, adding content, getting traffic, have a look at Michael Jones “Affiliate Code”. An excellent course on adapting public domain material to moneymaking products is “Million Dollar Publisher”. Many online businesses are built around Adsense ads. However if you are not careful you can lose your shirt. Mike Auton has an excellent course called Google Wealth Magnet”. Perry Marshall has always been known as the “guru” of Adsense marketing. He combined with Bryan Todd, in Janauary, 2010, to release the “Ultimate Guide to Google Ad Words, 2nd Edition”. Both Martin Avis and Tiffany Dow have put together comprehensive material on the use of Private Label Rights.

If you want your business to grow and prosper pick one mentor and follow their teaching to a conclusion. Don’t overwhelm yourself with running back and forth between first one “guru” and then another. As a senior learning to work online you need to find a system that helps you untangle the intricacies of building a web site and building an online business.

A GHOST WRITER OR PLR WRITING?

For the content of your website should you hire a ghost writer or should you source some great PLR material on your niche? What can you expect from a ghostwriter? Are there any quality PLR sources?

PLR has been a savior to many marketers. You can buy a fully fleshed out 50-page eBook for $50 or less that was written by a professional ghostwriter, slap your own name on it, and market it for whatever price you want.

Ghostwriting fees could run as high as $50 per page, which meant that same 50-page eBook would cost $2,500 to own if you outsourced it to a private freelancer. There are, of course, perks that come with having your content ghostwritten as opposed to purchased as PLR.

Will you be investing in private label rights – or saving up for a private ghostwriter to create your courses? Perhaps the answer is both! You can use PLR as a cheap way to get traffic to your site where you sell your individually ghostwritten eBook.

A typical PLR pack can provide you with all of the elements you need to build a formidable list of targeted prospects. You can buy web content, email autoresponders, content for social networks, and reports that serve as a viral freebie where you can hyperlink to your paid product.

Regardless of whether you’re using PLR or ghostwriters, you have to be careful about how you spend your money. With both, you want top quality. It doesn’t make sense to have a budget set aside that only allows you to purchase poorly written content – because the time you’ll have to invest in repairing it to make it viable for your promotions will eat into your cost savings.

Let’s say you had a dollar limit of $10 per page for ghostwriting that you were willing to pay for your 50-page eBook creation. For this amount, you found you could only find sub-par writers.

At that price, you saved $500 off what it would have cost you to hire a really good writer. The work you had to do to repair it took up three workdays of 8 hours each – a total of 24 hours rewriting and fixing what the cheap ghostwriter delivered to you.

Now ask yourself what you price your hourly wage at. Is it over $20.83? I certainly hope so. If it is, then you’re in the hole. You worked yourself out of the $500 savings. If you’d spent that extra $500 and hired someone who delivered perfection, you’d be ready to roll with your info product and your 24 hours could have been spent on other marketing tasks to help you generate traffic and sales right away.

This same mindset can be applied to what you budget for PLR. Private label rights won’t replace outsourcing. Marketers will still use both. And both can have advantages over the other – whether it’s cost savings or the perk of having a unique product. It’s predicted that more PLR sites will pop up, giving marketing consumers a wider selection of affordable content. A very good discussion of how you can use PLR eBooks plus much more can be found in Martin Avis’s eBook “Unlock the Secrets of’Private Label’ eBooks”.

CREATING CONTENT

Now that you have your niche chosen, your content management system ready to go, and your header installed; it is time to think of creating content. The buzzwords in Internet Marketing are: Content = Traffic = Revenue There are a number of ways that you can go about creating content.

You can create it yourself. You can research your topic and write original articles about it. If you happen to be an expert in your chosen niche you can write about your knowledge and experience on the subject. If this is a passion of yours but you don’t feel you have enough information to write a number of interesting articles about it, you can use the Internet, the library, and the bookstore to find ideas to form targeted information. On the Internet, the ultimate research tool you can find information by visiting forums, looking at Wikipedia, and other web sites on the topic. A few words of caution here don’t copy the content from other sites. It is morally wrong plus Google spiders are looking for original content. Use these sources for ideas that you can then put into your own words.

Another way to find content for your Internet site is to hire a writer. There are a number of places like elance.com or guru.com that have excellent writers. These professional writers will for quite modest sums take your ideas and spin them into quality written articles. It is a good idea to develop a work order with the exact details of what you need then post your job. You will be amazed at the number of bids you will receive and the diverse prices that you will be quoted for your project. You will then need to evaluate the writers. It is possible and highly probable that neither the lowest nor the highest bid is what you need. There are many offshore writers with very attractive pricing. Be sure to get examples of the writer’s work to see if it fits with your style. You are not looking for articles that you then need to edit and rewrite. If you have chosen a niche such as golf, tennis, dog training, or horse breeding, it is desirable that the writer should have some knowledge and understanding of the topic. An example of this is a site I run called Women’s Golf Center. I hired a highly recommended technician to set up the technical side of the site. He installed the whole site as if it was Women’s Gold Center.

Another source of content for your web site is article directories. These sites are full of well written articles on a multitude of topics. Each site has its own terms of reference. In general you can use the articles as they are. The most important condition is that you need to leave the link back to the author in place.

PLR articles or PLR eBooks are excellent sources of content. PLR stands for private label rights. If you purchase either the articles or the eBooks, you can then take the material then quickly add your own style to them. It is advisable to rewrite them in your own words. The extent to which you do this is up to you but at lest 20 percent is advisable. A great source of PLR articles is the PLR mini mart – take a look at these articles.
The articles are a perfect size for a blog post or a page on your web site. Tiffany Dow who runs this site will write custom articles for you if you can not find what you want on the her site. Tiffany has been a ghost writer for many of the “gurus” in the business and presents much better quality than others. Martin Avis has written an excellent resource manual “Unlock the Secrets of ‘Private Label EBooks”. I highly recommend it. It is chock-full of everything you need to know about the use of PLR eBooks and articles. He covers everything in this book from uses of PLR eBooks, to getting a domain, finding hosting, finding PLR sources, crafting the PLR item to make it your own, writing sales letters, getting traffic, payment processors, pricing the material. He adds several bonuses. I think you will find this eBook to be worth far more than the purchase price.

As you can see there are many ways to add content to your web site. You must decide which method works best for you. It is possible that you will find a combination of these methods to be the best route for you. The important thing is to keep adding content frequently to your website.
